We are Scholarbook
Our team includes athletes who have made their own experience with an athletic scholarship at a college. We therefore know exactly how you feel and understand what is important for you.

Simon Stützel is the founder of Scholarbook and our best example of how you can really improve your own performance with an athletic scholarship in the United States. During adolescence, his greatest success was only to participate in the national championships. Then, with the help of a sports scholarship he left to the Queens University in Charlotte, where he made his Master in Business Administration and began to significantly reduce his times in middle distance running. Now Simon Stützel is one of the best runners in Germany – from the middle distance all the way to the marathon.
Simons stay in the United States also paid off for our Scholarbook customers. Simon is friends with many US coaches and is very familiar with the American athletics scene. Consequently, he can offer extensive support to our athletes.
If he is not busy speaking with the coaches about scholarships, Simon Stützel is just again running through his hometown Karlsruhe. The 28-year-old even in this country trains at the highest level. Last year, he fulfilled one of his biggest dreams when he for the first time was able to wear the German national team jersey in Japan. Besides running, Simon enjoys cooking – or spending some time in the sauna.

Thomas Bojanowski has been with Scholarbook since it´s foundation. Only during the last two and a half years, he had to slow down. With the help of a sports scholarship the athlete was able to study Communication and Psychology at Wake Forrest University in the USA. “That is how I experienced how cool it is to study in the USA”, says Thomas. Because he had previously studied Sports Management for four terms in Germany, he also had a direct comparison with the German universities. “I am totally excited about my time over there and would always go back again”, Thomas continues.
But now he is dedicated primarily to Scholarbook and as a Managing Partner, he will mainly take care of the work in the background. In other words, he is in charge of the whole strategic planning as well as the structural and financial matters. However, he will also occasionally contribute with his experience as an athlete for our customers and provide them with the best advice. Not surprisingly, despite an active athletic career he has also made a voluntary social year at the Athletics Association of the Rhineland and has a C-Trainer license.
Furthermore, Thomas continues to be a runner and plans to participate in the coming years in the middle distance races also here in Germany. When he has a little extra time for other things, he likes to play the guitar or watch other American sports on TV.
Several years ago Nicole Steinke moved up from being an athlete supervisor to being the Manager in Scholarbook. Meanwhile, she maintains our website, trains new employees and is busy planning large projects. Technically seen it is indeed far from her original English and Romance studies, but Nicole could not imagine a better place to work: “It’s nice to see that everyone at Scholarbook gives his best, enabling our customers to achieve their dreams”, Nicole Steinke mentions happily.
If the phone for once does not ring, then her passion is horseback riding through the countryside. Nicole then imagines being in Texas and tries to overcome her endless wanderlust.

She studied journalism at the University of Missouri from where she will graduate in May 2018 with her Bachelor. Nadine absolutely loved her experience in the U.S.: “Obviously swimming over there is awesome, but besides that, you also learn to speak English fluently, get to know a different culture and meet amazing people from all over the world.”
Prior to her time in the U.S., Nadine was a successful swimmer in Germany’s youth sector. Once she started training with the college swim team, she improved a lot and became one of Germany’s best backstrokers. Besides an outstanding swimming career, Nadine also learned a lot about herself and laid the foundation for a successful professional career. “This wouldn’t have been possible for me in Germany.”

Frederik´s main task is to find for our golfer´s scholarships from the United States. This works especially well, mainly due to his experience. At the age of six Frederik Schulte started playing golf and was quickly called into various talent teams. At the age of 14, he moved to the Golf Club Bergisch Land, where he spent several years in a team with Martin Kaymer. By the end of the school days, Frederik Schulte had reached the German top, became part of the golf team and moved to the University of South Carolina Aiken in 2007, where he completed his Bachelor of Business Administration. Therefore he understands perfectly well how you feel before your athletic scholarship in the USA. “My best experience is always to receive the positive feedback of the mediated athletes”, says Frederik.
Head of Soccer
- Junior player at SC Paderborn 07, SV Lippstadt 08
- NSCAA All Region-Team (2009)
- NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region First Team
Niklas can relate very well to the fact that due to an athletic scholarship in the United States you can get to know a whole new culture and simultaneously be trained at the highest level academically as well as athletically. From 2008 to 2012, he studied Sports Management at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was sponsored by a soccer scholarship. Therefore, he is the ideal contact partner for all soccer players, when it comes to scholarships. “With a scholarship, you can live this dream of a top athlete in the US – and furthermore you even get an education that is later of perfect help”, says Niklas about sports scholarships.
Head of Triathlon
- German Champion Duathlon (Professional)
- German Champion Duathlon and Triathlon (Juniors)
- Top 10 rankings in IRONMAN 70.3 competitions (Professional)

At Scholarbook, Alexander Schilling is responsible for the support of the talents in East Germany. Alex himself studied with an athletics and cross country scholarship at Queens University of Charlotte (North Carolina) and at the wonderful Florida Gulf Coast University in the Sunshine State, where he completed his studies in Economics with distinction.
Prior to his studies in the United States, Alex was one of the most successful triathlon juniors in Germany. He chose to study abroad, as he saw no chance to combine the extensive training with a high-quality study in Germany. “The four years in the US were the best decision of my life. I was able to improve my performance even during demanding studies and now after receiving my degree I can even be at the start as a professional triathlete for a team”, says Alex.
Whenever Alex is not busy for Scholarbook searching for great talents in East Germany, he most probably is active in sports activities preparing himself for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii.

As Head of Austria, Christoph Sander is responsible for the support of our customers in the Alpine Republic. As he still is an active runner and a student in Vienna, he knows first-hand about the limited opportunities in Austria, to combine studies and sports.
Christoph regrets that he did not hear about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before. He was able though to at least go to the UAA Anchorage Alaska for one semester in his master studies and therefore is able to teach his customers through first hand experience.
Christoph is 4x Austrian champion over 3,000m and 10,000m steeplechase, has been 5x at the European championships and once at the college European championships in cross country. He is a successful athlete and a reliable advisor, who is looking forward to help any Austrian athlete out there.

As our Manager for Switzerland, Thomas Petrich is responsible for all our sports talents from Switzerland. Thomas Petrich is well aware of the difficult conditions of combining sports and studies in Switzerland and has therefore also fulfilled his dream of a sports scholarship in the USA. Thomas is very grateful for this experience because he has not only improved sports wise but has also earned his Master’s degree in Sports Administration with his tennis scholarship. However, Thomas Petrich is also aware of the difficulties an athlete has to master on his way to the USA: How do I contact the trainers? What do I need to apply for a university? How do I apply for my visa? Our customers from Switzerland no longer need to ask these questions, as Thomas Petrich is happy to provide them with his advice and assistance.
MANAGER FOR FRANCE
Working in France, Bruno Bortuzzo is responsible for supporting our french speaking clients in their desire to fulfill the American dream. He has international experience, as he has already lived in France, the United States, Argentina, Peru and Germany (where he obtained a Master’s degree in Sport Management). After training an AS Monaco youth team and playing soccer for an American university, he knows how important it is for a young adult to develop his international experience and learn through learning different cultures. He believes that obtaining a scholarship at an American university, almost free of charge, is an excellent opportunity to make the big leap in adult life.
You can reach him quickly by phone, e-mail or even Facebook.
Our newest member of staff Susanne Müller-Seidel currently resides in the Paradise of the Caribbean, in Trinidad & Tobago. Originally Susanne originally comes from Germany, completed her Bachelor of Business Administration here and studied International Cultural Management before she decided to move out to the wide world. Susanne Müller-Seidel is responsible for our customers of the American sports in Scholarbook.
Assistant for Soccer
Nico issues the profiles of our clients on the Scholarbook page, for the US coaches to acquire a better impression of the athlete. He also supports our soccer players whenever there are any questions and problems. “I enjoy very much working with the soccer players, who have the same passion for the sport like I do, it just is so much fun”, says Nico. If he is not busy with new profiles, Nico is found in the stadium to cheer on the 1. FC Köln or sometimes even he himself kicks the ball.

Alexander Haß supervises our athletes, especially those athletes in the disciplines sprinting, jumping and throwing. He himself is still an active athlete, especially in sprinting. His recent successes include, among others the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and the victories in the Big South Championships.
Alex completed his Bachelor of Economic Science in Rostock to then, with the help of Scholarbook, find the way to the USA. In the following 2 years, he passed his MBA at the Coastal Carolina University. As a result, he perfectly knows the advantages of studying in the United States and can give you valuable advice when deciding on your future.
Currently, he is dividing his time between his training environment in Magdeburg and the United States, but will be present as an athlete in one or the other competition in Germany. Of course, you can get in touch with him here and talk shop about athletics.
